Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions are designed to keep you, your pets, and myself safe & happy.
By booking a service with Paws and Claws, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
*To all new and current clients* New dog walking and pet sitting agreement policy & vet release forms will require to be signed from April onwards. These will be renewed and re-signed twice a year.

SERVICES PROVIDED
I offer professional pet sitting, dog walking, and pet check-ins as agreed at the time of booking.
My services do not include veterinary care beyond basic first aid or oral & topical medication.
Overnight Pet Sitting
Overnight pet sitting follows a structured schedule including evening, overnight, and morning care. During the day, I may leave the property for pre-scheduled dog walking clients. This typically does not exceed 3-4 hours at a time. All pets will be left safely and securely, with their individual needs fully met before leaving. Bookings are not suitable for pets requiring constant supervision unless agreed in advance. I will always update owners when leaving/arriving for any reasons.
To ensure the highest standard of care and consistency for pets in my care, I do not take on new clients, bookings, or conduct meet & greets for new clients during an active overnight pet sitting period.
Daytime Pet Sitting
Daytime pet sitting (up to 12 hours) is dedicated, in-home care. During these bookings, I remain with your pet for the duration of the sit. Pre-scheduled regular dog walks are paused or can be rearranged on the day that I am away for a daytime petsit unless otherwise agreed.

BOOKINGS, PAYMENTS & CANCELLATIONS
All bookings must be confirmed in writing (email or text).
Payment must be no later than the day of service unless otherwise explicitely agreed.
ALL owners must sign client agreement forms before any bookings can take place.
I accept cash payments or bank transfer.
Dog walks can be cancelled without charge - as a courtesy please give as much notice as possible.
Petsitting cancellations will be charged as follows:
- Cancellations made less than 24 hours before service will be charged 100% of the service value
- Cancellations made 24-48 hours before service will be charged 50% of the service value
Future bookings cannot be made until the cancellation fee is paid & any current bookings you have with Paws and Claws will be cancelled until the cancellation fee is paid.
Once a petsit commences, the full fee remains payable if the client returns home early or cancels the remaining days for any reason of their own and is not refundable. This is because the reserved dates and times have been held exclusively for you, and other work opportunities may have been declined as a result.
If I am unable to carry out the remaining days of a booking (illness, unforeseen circumstances, family emergency) you will recieve a full refund for services not yet provided.
If I have concerns regarding your pet’s behaviour - including but not limited to aggression, severe anxiety, stress, or reactivity as a result of separation from their owners or adjustment to new carers - I reserve the right to recommend early termination of services. In such cases, I may advise that your pet return to the care of someone familiar or that the owners return home, in order to prioritise the animal’s welfare and safety. Any fees already paid for completed or ongoing days of care will remain non-refundable, partial refunds may be available for unused days.

OWNER RESPONSIBILITIES
By booking with Paws and Claws, you confirm that:
While not required for service, it is preferred if your pet is vaccinated and up to date on parasite prevention for their health & safety.
You will provide all necessary equipment (lead, harness/collar, bedding, food, medication if any).
You have informed me of all relevent health, behavioural, and dietary needs.
If I require house access you will provide a working key.

MY RESPONSIBILITIES
I will care for your pets with professionalism, compassion, and respect.
I keep pet records for every pet in my care. Therefore I will regularly ask you confirm our details are correct (pets age, health, feeding regime, etc)
I will follow your instructions as closely as possible.
In case of emergency I will contact you immediately, if unreachable I will seek veterinary attention at your selected clinic - owner(s) are responsible for all veterinary fees.
I am fully insured for dog walking and pet sitting - details available upon request.
While every effort will be made to ensure your pet(s) wellbeing and safety, Paws and Claws is not liable for injury, loss, or death of a pet due to an unavoidable accident - beyond what is covered by my insurance.
I stay up to date on legislations and regulations in Scotland regarding pet-sitting and dog-walking.

LIABILITY
I cannot accept responsibility for illness, injury, loss, or death of your pet except if caused by my proven negligence.
I am not liable for damage to property caused by your pet during our care - for example if your dog is a chronic chewer please let me know so I can keep valuables out of reach.
You accept full financial responsibility for any veterinary attention and treatment
While I take reasonable steps to keep my personal belongings out of reach of pets, animals may still cause accidental damage through normal behaviour (e.g. chewing, scratching, knocking items over, or accessing bags). Pet owners accept responsibility for any damage caused by their pet to my personal property during the booking. In cases of minor damage, this may be dealt with informally; however, significant damage may require reimbursement to cover repair or replacement costs.

PHOTOS & UPDATES
I regularly share photos and videos of our clients during walks and stays for owner updates and social media. I also celebrate Pet Of The Month for consistent clients who have booked with me consistently for over 6 months. If you do not wish to have your pets shown on my social media please tell me at the time of booking.
